Starting a new analysis for a Mendix application can be done in multiple ways, depending on what has been configured for your organization.
NOTE: Only users that have the ‘Contributor’ or ‘Admin’ role are able to start a new analysis.
Step 1
Navigate to the ‘My Portals’ page by clicking ‘My Portals’ in the menu on the left side of your screen. This will open a page that shows you all current scans and their results. This can be either in a ‘Tile view’ or in a ‘Grid view’.
Step 2
Select the portal for which you would like to trigger an analysis. This will open a ‘detail view’ on the right side of your screen.
Step 3A – Mendix API trigger
If the ‘Mendix API’ trigger has been configured for your organization, simply click the ‘Start analysis now‘ button to trigger a (new) scan.
Step 3B – Manual .MPK upload
If the ‘Manual .MPK Upload’ trigger has been configured for your organization, first click the little ‘cog’ icon.
After that, use the ‘Upload sources’ section to upload a .MPK file. Once the file is uploaded, click the ‘Submit sources’ button. Your scan will now be started.
Step 4
Running a new scan can take anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes (approximately), depending on the size of the application. Once the analysis is ready, you can open scan results by selecting a ‘Scan Date’ (you can select two scan dates to view a comparison between scans). Next, click the ‘View Analysis Results’ button to open the analysis results (Dashboard).
